I ignored the little voice and considered the other questions Seth had asked.

Somehow, I couldn’t see Dominic bobbing about in a boat, a rod and line disappearing into the inky waters below.

Nor could I see him playing darts, or bantering with mates in the pub.

I pondered. Where could I see Dominic?

Well, maybe that trendy wine bar on the edge of Covent Garden. Or perhaps that bijou restaurant that claimed to be Maidstone’s best kept secret. Not that we’d ventured to such places ourselves. Instead, I’d discovered them with Becky on a couple of giggly girly nights out.

Occasionally Dominic and I had visited Chloe’s for a good old-fashioned greasy spoon breakfast, and a couple of times I’d even managed to bully him into a Sunday roast at the local pub. But he’d always said he preferred being at home and having me all to himself. I’d been flattered.
